There is still time. On this first weekend of major departures on summer vacation, some 12 million TGV, Ouigo and Intercités have already been sold for departures in July and August, indicates SNCF Travelers, Thursday, July 3. A slightly advance figure for the moment compared to the same date last year. The most popular destinations are Bordeaux, Quimper, Lyon, Marseille and Nantes. 18 million tickets are still available for sale.

The entire TGV park will be mobilized throughout the summer to allow an offer of nearly 800 trains per day. Trains comprising 630 seats per train and not 720 as is the case in the latest generation TGV ordered in Alstom and which will only be delivered until next year.

Among the summer new features: transversal links on weekends between Strasbourg and Quimper, La Rochelle or Perpignan, but also daily night train links Paris-Aurillac and Paris-Cerber, an additional weekly link between Paris and Nice, or even a reinforced offer on the Paris-Barcelona route.
This weekend marks the start of the summer school holidays. For the occasion, the SNCF is preparing to circulate 2,400 TGV, Ouigo and intercités between this Friday and Sunday, with 1.3 million travelers in total on board. Among the flagship destinations for this weekend: Bordeaux, Nantes, Lyon, Nice and Marseille.
