A mother died in a road accident on Wednesday, June 11, in Reims (Marne). According to the first observations, the defective Takata airbag of his 2014 Citroën C3 is behind his death.
It was on a fast track, near Reims (Marne), that a fatal accident took place last week. A defective airbag exploded, killing the driver, a 37 -year -old mother. His car, a 2014 Citroën C3, was equipped with Takata airbags. “The victim was very seriously injured, she suffered very big damage to the face and jaw”explains François Schneider, public prosecutor of Reims.
According to the prosecutor, “Metal parts have been found” AND “The airbag is clearly the manager, since there are no other traces of injury following the accident”. The car was well the subject of a reminder, but not a immobilization requested by the manufacturer. After this new drama, all C3 and DS3 is now equipped with these failing airbags that must be immobilized, by decision of the Minister of Transport. This represents 82,000 new vehicles in France which should no longer drive.
