Rain announced, the organization reviews the program

Meteorological forecasts for Sunday afternoon on the Principality of Monaco brought the organizers of the Masters 1000 of Monte-Carlo to modify the initial program. Thus, the final of the simple, which will ultimately be disputed before that of the double, will start at 12:00. If time allows.

A surprise guest is announced on the rock. Unfortunately, this is the rain. According to the weather forecast for Sunday in the Principality, showers, perhaps even numerous (and probably violent), could fall on the Monte-Carlo Country Club, where the Masters 1000 of Monte-Carlo has been competing for last Sunday and thus upset the program of the latter day, with the two finals on the program: that of the double but above all that of the simple.

In order not to be obliged to review the schedule at the last minute or even at the time, the organizers therefore preferred to anticipate and … modify the course of the day compared to what was initially planned. With note a considerable and fairly unusual change. Thus, contrary to what is usually done in the Monegasque tournament, the final of the double will not take place before that of the simple but afterwards, as is the case in Roland-Garros for example.

The double before the simple …

New schedules are further challenging. Originally scheduled at 3:00 p.m., the Simple Table final was indeed advanced by three hours and will therefore start at 12 noon, provided that time allows it and that it does not rain, or not too much.

“Due to the weather forecast for Sunday, in consultation with ATP officials, the tournament organizers decided to schedule the Simple final at 12:00 p.m. on the short Rainier III in order to give the best chance to successfully finish this incredible 2025 edition. The double final is now planned to start after the final of the simple,” said the tournament management in a statement published after the latest quarter. The semi-finals will oppose the two Spaniards on Saturday Carlos Alcaraz and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and the Italian Lorenzo Musetti to the Australian Alex de Minaur.
