All over the world, clothing creators find what they have created, copied on Shein, and offered at much more attractive prices.

In a workshop in Lyon (Rhône), Pauline Moisson, creator of ambitious upcycling, makes clothes. But she recently discovered that Shein, the Fast Fashion giant, had copied his creations. It offers a shirt at 65 euros on its site, while it is sold four times cheaper, at only 13 euros, by the Chinese platform. Many creators say they are victims of plagiarism.

Created in 2008, the Chinese giant has established itself with its low prices and collections permanently renewed. The company is criticized for its ecological impact and its poor working conditions. Plagiarism would be an additional abuse. “It is a model which derives the costs down by all means and which, at the same time, flouts the human rights of workers and workers”explains Valérie Rodriguez, spokesperson for the Stop Fast-Fashion coalition.
