The site of the Tetra Pak factory in Longvic, in Côte-d’Or, near Dijon, is occupied and blocked by employees, Friday June 13. and until further notice, reports here Burgundy (ex-France Bleu). Earlier in the day, management canceled a meeting to debate the social plan.

Tetra Pak maintains his project to close this historic site which employs 207 people on permanent contracts, probably for the end of September. A meeting was scheduled for Friday to discuss the terms of the social plan. “Management reversed employees Wednesday opposed the transfer of a large part to another Hungarian factory, explains Claude Rolandet, CGT delegate. Tetra Pak came to get a sort of 2 -ton screws with a truck to help out his other site. But how can we endorse this departure, when we no longer give us orders and that this work could be entrusted to us? ”

Local management is “Convened Monday June 16 at the group’s headquarters in Lausanne in Switzerland “continues the union representative. “And our meeting is postponed to next Wednesday, but it is proof that everything is decided there.” The unions therefore claim “To discuss with people who make the real decisions, and to stop with contempt. If we have to leave, we want it to be done in worthy and honest conditions, not with a social plan at a discount”Add the CGT delegate.

The factory had already been stopped for several weeks. A large part of the 207 employees have argued their right to withdraw to “serious and imminent danger”Because the closure of the factory weighs on the morale of employees. According to unions, employees “are no longer in psychological state to work safely on machines”.

The site is now completely blocked until further notice by a strike stake and a palette fire in front of the entrance. “We’re going to take turns in 4 -hour slices. We will be there all this weekend, and we can hardly see how the activity could restart”ensure employees in Burgundy here.
