From Sunday, June 15, four trains from the Italian railway company Trenitalia will run on the Paris-Marseille axis. For a standard place, prices will start at 27 euros.
This is the great novelty of summer. A red and gray train at Marseille station (Bouches-du-Rhône). As of Sunday, June 15, travelers will be able to board the TRENITALIA TGV in the direction of Paris (Île-de-France). Because for more than three years, the Italian company has already been riding on the Paris-Lyon line. The travelers we met are satisfied with the competition, today cheaper than the SNCF.
Some have already reserved their Paris-Marseille tickets for their holidays this summer. “To go to Marseille on July 18, I paid 49 euros with Trenitalia. If I wanted to leave with the SNCF, it would have been 109 euros”explains a user. Paris-Marseille tickets from 27 euros in standard class, but with only four round trips per day, when the SNCF offers 19. The Italians will not offer an additional connection. For three years, the French rail has opened up to competition. In addition to Trenitalia, the Spanish Renfe offers Madrid-Marseille and Barcelona-Lyon.
