Summer holidays begin under the sign of the heat wave for thousands of French people. A Var campsite has taken steps to fight heat.
After 900 km of road from the Paris region, a retired couple finally arrived in an antibes campsite (Alpes-Maritimes). For them, as for many French people, the holidays started with temperatures already very high for this start to the summer season. In the Var, the director of a campsite invested in 17 anti-challer mobile homes for the comfort of vacationers.
“White flat roofs, to think about heat, plus an insulation at 160 mm to absorb heat”Details Christophe Defert, director of the “La Bastianne” campsite in Puget-sur-Argens (Var). “When you are inside, you gain between five and seven degrees compared to a classic mobile home”he explains. All camping bungalows are also equipped with air conditioning. But with 34 degrees in the afternoon, it is at the swimming pool that we find the holidaymakers. A change in customer habits that the director has noticed.
