In the largest cancer center in Europe, a latest generation scanner has been installed. A three million euros device, financed at two thirds by donations. Questioning the tax benefits of donations, according to the Institute, is a brake on medical research.
“This price to pay, even for hospitals like Gustave Roussy (Villejuif in Val-de-Marne), is impossible to do if you don’t have philanthropy, if you don’t have donations “Assured Fabrice Barlesi, Managing Director of the Gustave Roussy Institute.
The General Inspectorate of Finance recommends reducing the tax deduction on donations. It is set at a minimum of 66 % today. Clearly, for 100 euros paid, the donor pays only 33 euros after tax. The report would propose to limit the ceiling of this deduction to 2,000 euros per year, a measure which could slow generosity. “I think maybe I would give a little less, but that would be an impact, I think”launched a passerby.
Down donations are the fear of a Parisian emergency accommodation association, which depends at 25 %. “For example, it would be 30 people all year round who could not be accommodated, 11 positions that could be deleted, and about 50,000 meals to the streets on the street who would not be distributed”deplores Frédéric Bolt, co -director of the works of the association “La Mie de Pain”.
The loss of large donors, above all, would imply the immediate closure of the association’s nursing office. The government specifies Monday, July 7, that the General Inspectorate of Finance Report is only a working document, not a budgetary arbitration.
