Absent in Montreal due to thigh pain, Loïs Boisson has already abandoned ground in the WTA ranking.
The weeks follow each other but are not alike for Loïs Boisson. A week ago, the Frenchwoman celebrated her victory on the clay of Hamburg, her first on the circuit with, in the key, a nice leap in the WTA ranking.
While she was in 63 place before her arrival in Germany, the native of Dijon had indeed won 19 rows to point in 44e position, his best career ranking. Las, the day after her coronation, the tricolor announced bad news: due to a thigh pain, she had to package for the Montreal tournament.
Absent in Canada, Loïs Boisson will have to wait until next week and the start of the Cincinnati tournament to launch its American tour on hard. The Annecian should pay the price in the next WTA ranking and that when she has already lost ground on Monday.
Two other French women in the top 100
Loïs Boisson has indeed abandoned three places and now points to 47e row. She is nonetheless the best classified French, far ahead of the other two Blue of the Top 100: Leolia Jeanjean and Elsa Jacquemot, respectively 98e And 100e world players.
For the rest no change is to be reported in the top 20 and it is therefore always Aryna Sabalenka who largely leads the dance, far ahead of Coco Gauff and Iga SwiTek. Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva complete the top 5 and in their wake, follow Qinwen Zheng, Amanda Anisimova and Madison Keys.
