The government has just forced manufacturers to lend replacement vehicles to their immobilized customers for more than 15 days in the Takata Airbags affair. About 1.7 million vehicles would be affected by a repair.

Replacing his defective Takata airbag with a new protection system, here is the instruction that many owners must respect. 1.7 million vehicles are affected. The garage owners face increased demand. Sometimes you have to wait several days before recovering your car. “We organized ourselves in terms of work amplitudes and on the other hand, you have people dedicated to the airbag,” said a mechanic.
For a secretary, the workload is colossal. The customers concerned are looking for a solution to go on vacation safely. “For example, I have, yesterday, a lady who called me by saying to myself: ‘I don’t want to drive my car anymore, give me a loan vehicle, something I can’t do, since there is an incalculable number of airbags and I don’t have enough vehicles to satisfy everyone,” she said.
To deal with difficulties, the government is asking manufacturers to provide their customers from replacement vehicles. All brands are affected by the case. For the moment, they have not reacted to the announcement of the Ministry of Transport.
