The Palais de Carthage welcomed, Thursday, August 28, 2025, the Ceremony of the National Knowledge Day, chaired by the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed. On this occasion, the head of state insisted on the importance of education, social justice and national sovereignty. He denounced the inequalities which slow down academic success, linked to poverty, to the lack of essential services such as transport, and regional disparities. The president recalled that education is a constitutional right up to 16 years, stressing the role of the State in gratuitousness and the quality of education, and presented the Higher Education Council as a pillar of “national liberation”. He finally pleaded for educational reforms anchored in Tunisian reality, rejecting obsolete foreign models and calling for repairing past injustices.
