Will French salaries increase in 2025? The answer is mixed and rather negative, according to a study published this Monday, September 1, which indicates that companies will allocate less budget to increases.
When we talk about wage increase, everyone has their own experience: “It has been more than eight years that my salary is still the same”says a woman interviewed in the street. A young man hopes a few hundred euros more on the pay sheet. On the other hand, another resident, explains that it has been increased “Over 6 % in less than a year in the company”.
On average, the budgets of companies allocated to increases are estimated this year at 2.1 %, a figure down year after year, and offset by more advantages, such as restaurant titles, or reimbursement of transport costs. “We are really in a logic of complementarity and balance of the employer offer to motivate and retain employees”explains Delphine Landeroin, specialist in remuneration policies at LHH.
According to the latest forecasts, this drop in increase budgets should stabilize by 2026.
