As the Blues’ rally approaches, a new hard blow from Italy could complicate the plans of Didier Deschamps.
The French team continued its qualification campaign for the 2026 World Cup in October. The Blues will meet in Clairefontaine from Monday 6, before facing Azerbaijan on October 10 at the Parc des Princes, then going to Reykjavik three days later to face Iceland.
But before, Didier Deschamps must unveil his list this Thursday for these two decisive meetings. Several absences are already to be noted, in particular in attack, where Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué lack the call. The return of Rayan Cherki, who resumed training with Manchester City, could however create surprise.
Uncertain thuram
But another file worries: that of Khéphren Thuram. Released before the time of play Saturday against Atalanta in Serie A, the middle does not appear in the group of Juventus for the Champions League match against Villarreal on Wednesday during the 2nd day of the league phase.
Holder during all Juve games this season, even competing in all of the first four, Thuram had also found the group of Blues in September, he who had not been called since November 2023. Remained on the bench against Ukraine and Iceland, he did not have playing time. His absence from the Turin group is now a doubt about Didier Deschamps.
