To prevent these crooks from raging, an order therefore comes into force: it suspends any diagnostician carrying out more than a thousand DPE over a year, if he cannot justify this number of intervention. According to the Ministry of Housing, each year, out of four million DPEs carried out, around 70,000 are fraudulent. In question, in particular, the prices of energy performance diagnostics that are not regulated. For two and a half hours spent on site, Stéphane Souchaud will charge 290 euros for the DPE and electricity and gas diagnoses. You have to make quotes and compare, he advises, but beware of too broken prices. “If the price is too low, it is certain that it is anything”, he warns.

For the owner, the record of the day is rather positive: the note of his DPE has gone to C for the apartment. But Stéphane Souchaud, however, discovered an anomaly in the gas in the kitchen, which will have to be repaired before renting.
