Their anger, even muscular arrests fail to turn it off. Moroccan youth have been shouting their despair for five days. Sometimes it is in the middle of an interview that the demonstrators are taken by the police. What does it matter, even if they hold their young children in their arms.

Demonstrations are observed everywhere in the major cities of the country, and the same slogans that unite come back: “The people want health and education”. “Young people are demanding schools and hospitals, it’s not impossible, it’s essential. How don’t the authorities understand it?”proclaims a young demonstrator.

The movement wants to be peaceful, but it is enamelled with clashes with the police. Tuesday evening, 300 people were injured in the country. In Oujda (Morocco), we even see police vehicles ride at full speed on the crowd. The demonstrators organize themselves on social networks, under the name “Gen Z 212”, in reference to this generation aged 20 to 30 years, which we see for example taking a selfie after an arrest. They say they are independent, without leader and all denounce the degradation of public services and corruption. It all started two weeks ago, in front of an Agadir hospital (Morocco) where eight women died after suffering cesareans. Symptom of a two -speed Morocco which, on the one hand, displays brand new stadiums for the World Cup of football, but on the other, is accused of abandoning hospitals and schools.

“We don’t want football. If it had been good for us, it would have been a long time since it would have been the youth. We want health. Our parents suffer”claims a young man. In a statement, the government says it is ready to respond positively to movement. However, the authorities identified 400 arrests yesterday.
