At Gare du Nord, on October 2, the mobilization was discreet. Only a few RER lines are disturbed. Travelers wonder. Without government, is it really interesting to demonstrate?

“If the claims are the same and they have not obtained satisfaction, it is both normal that they strike, but I do not have the impression that this time, it is very followed.” estimates an interviewed passerby. For others, mobilizations no longer seem to be enough: “The problem, it is more global. We would finally have to do these reforms. We cannot continue like this. Strikes, it is to challenge, but there is no valid proposition opposite.”

At the heart of claims on October 2, the question of the repeal of pension reform. On October 1, Sébastien Lecornu proposed to make the methods for calculating women’s retirement pensions more generous. Insufficient, according to the unions, this announcement does not appear their anger as explained by a member of the CGT: “These are crumbs. This is not what French and French people want. We want to repeal the pension reform.”

The inter-syndical wants to maintain pressure on the Prime Minister. More than 230 gatherings are scheduled for Thursday October 2.
