New day of inter -union actions. All of the eight union organizations once again call for beating the pavement against budgetary austerity and in particular to claim the suspension of the last pension reform on Thursday, October 2. The Parisian demonstration will start from the Place d’Italie at 2 p.m., head to the Invalides, with in the procession, the Planète Boum Boum collective.

Jumped on a truck, with their plates and large speakers, these activists from the Ecologist Alternatiba Paris movement, today baptized Action Justice Climate Paris, set the mood in Parisian processions. In 2023, during the mobilization against pension reform, they made themselves known with the song No retiree on a burned planetwhich has accumulated millions of views on social networks.

To get there, behind the scenes, Lucie, 26 years old and Rémi, 33, members of the collective, meet to write their slogans. “The idea is to get a message across in a very concise way, find a good formula”explains Rémi. “I often type their synonyms or rhymes on the internet”Indicates Lucie.
The collective became known in 2023, but the idea germinated during the climate marches in 2019. They are now nine members. “We wanted to bring our way of animating the processions”recalls Rémi. They wanted indeed “Having demonstrations that make you want to take to the streets, which give energy to people who work”

“A manifestation is hours to walk on the street. The idea is to go and get people who potentially do not make manifestations too much because they are not too politicized or because they think it’s boring to go to demonstration.”

They choose their words inspired by news. “Right now, it’s about taxing ultra-rich”Develops Rémi. And to be taken up by the demonstrators, more easily, they divert known tunes. “We will test a cover of the famous It’s the boss’s tourby singing : ‘This is the tour of the bosses. We don’t go away as long as they don’t pay. ‘”exhibits Rémi. They also use catchy electronic music: “These are fairly repetitive curls. But to accompany slogans for example, we can make a little one: ‘we want money, money, for our public services.'”

But the goal is not only to make the demonstrators sing and dance, they have strong messages to pass. “We are revolted by the budget that is offered to usdenounces Rémi. We are revolted by the fact that the question of the taxation of ultra-rich is swept when we are asked all the time of budgetary austerity. ” The collective therefore collaborates with the unions, notably Solidaires which intervenes on their truck. “We try to have almost a speaking every half hour and we try to alternate with a time of slogans in music”indicates Rémi. “Once, for example, there were workers from Stellantis who had spoken. And suddenly, it also allows you to have speech that we are not going to hear usually in ecological actions”Develops Lucie.

They collaborate with the unions, even creating a set list. Lucie explains having “An Excel table” on which she notes the “Unrolled” desired of the event, “With a list of speaking”. “We try to space them so that there is not a speaking tunnel”Add the young woman.
“We have feedback from people who tell us that it gives them strength and the desire to continue fighting and hope”Salues Rémi. The young man is aware that “It is not only with music and festive demonstrations that we will change things”But he sees it as “moments of breathing”.

Their formula works, they manage to attract a novice audience, which delights Lucie :: “There were people who made an appointment on our procession at some point, as if it was their release between friends. And it can start like that and finish after much more politicized. So it’s super interesting.”
They also hope to inspire other processions outside of Paris. For this, they put a kit online, with their slogans and their self-service music.
