Some French people have transformed part of their home into a relay point. The demand is there, online commerce taking an increasingly important place. The key, up to an additional 300 euros per month.
In the middle of a suburban area of Seine-et-Marne, a client came to recover her package at an individual. For two years, Valérie Gibert has transformed her garage into a parcel relay. “”Like at the Post Office “she smiles. It classifies the packages in alphabetical order on the shelves, and had cameras installed to avoid flights. Its organization is millimeter, although it is not a professional in the sector.
VAlérie is a maternal assistant, and her two activities are perfectly compatible. The deliverers place the packages at the time of the nap. Customers then come to withdraw them. “It allows me to see people (…) and make my end of the month”she said. Valérie touches between 20 and 40 cents per package. No employment contract is signed, only an application makes the link between individuals like her and logistics giants, who need to strengthen their presence outside the city centers.
Other French people improvise couriers and transport the packages.
