A new promise from the government. The Minister of Public Accounts Amélie de Montchalin assured Monday, November 3 that the government was committed to “to transmit” in the Senate “all amendments” in the 2026 budget project “voted” by the National Assembly. She explained in France 2’s “20 Heures” that she wanted to avoid the Senate examining the draft budget in its initial copy, without the amendments voted by the National Assembly.

This situation could occur if the National Assembly does not vote on the draft budget by November 23, a hypothesis that is increasingly likely. “If we renounced 49.3, it is not to pass by ordinances. Sébastien Lecnornu wants a copy which will be transformed by the two chambers”an executive advisor told franceinfo.
MPs complete eight days of debate on Monday on the party “recipes” of the state budget, without hope of voting on this aspect on Tuesday as initially planned. The discussions will give way to those on the Social Security budget. They will resume on November 12, until midnight on November 23 at the latest – constitutional deadlines then forcing the government to transmit the text to the Senate.
