Perhaps Duralex glassware can be pulled out of the woods. The fundraising launched by the company exceeded the objective of 5 million euros. In less than 24 hours, the French promised to invest more than 15 million. A relief for the boss. “At the moment we are at 15,122,000 euros. This is how the French are responding. It’s pure joy. Here, we are in a meeting with all the partners. We said to ourselves, if we reach 3 million in one month, it won’t be bad. And in fact, you saw, we reached 5 million in 5 hours and 40 minutes”, congratulates François Marciano, general manager of Duralex Scop SA.

Investments blocked for 7 years, remunerated at 8% per year, but also simple donations via a kitty. Tuesday, November 4 in the morning again, Sophie Chaudier, sales assistant, is overwhelmed by calls: “I turned into a switchboard operator since yesterday!

The employees took over the factory themselves more than a year ago, but without an investor. So, with now several million euros to renovate it, in particular by purchasing new machines, they are already planning. “We will have new molds, new items, new products. I must tell you, since 1997, there have been no new products created at Duralex. So, this is something we are going to do for 2026“, rejoices Suliman El Moussaoui.

At Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin (Loiret), residents are reassured about the company. “It’s part of the heritage of Chapelle-Saint-Mémin and I find that it’s really important, the heritage“, said a resident.”I’m surprised though. It happened very quickly, fundraising and everything. It’s impressive. So it’s a good thing“, adds a passerby. Duralex’s objective: to launch glass storage boxes in the coming months.
