An image that is both gentle and poignant, where fatigue seems to mingle with an almost disarming serenity.
This is the second photo Ramla has posted since yesterday. After a first photo where we could see a white-haired Sonia, tired and weakened by the ordeal of prison, this new photo comes as a breath of hope.
Under this apparent calm, Internet users read a lesson in courage. Many saw in her features the echo of an inner struggle, that of a tested but standing woman, who continues to face the storm with dignity. “I find you beautiful with your white hair and your piercing gaze…”writes journalist Zied El Héni. “Every wrinkle tells a love story between you and this country that betrayed you”, adds lawyer Dalila Ben Mbarek Msaddek. These words, among many others, sum up the tone of a collective outpouring of admiration and tenderness.
Zied El Héni sent him a moving letter, greeting his “movement of gray hair, cloud of freedom”, his frankness and his refusal to compromise. He recalls his famous phrase «High country», his refusal of hate speech and his constant commitment to human dignity.
In this photo shared dozens of times, Sonia Dahmani appears as a symbol of integrity, quiet resistance, and unconditional love for Tunisia.
