Benoît Paire is going through a difficult period and has spoken about the future of his career.
What happens to Benoît Paire? This season, the Frenchman has particularly distinguished himself on the Challenger circuit, notably with a brief appearance during the qualifiers for the Orléans tournament at the end of last September. The Avignonnais, invited, delivered a magnificent first set against the Lithuanian Edas Butvilas. But the body started to creak and he had to give up after 71 minutes (1-6, 6-2, 3-0).
Out of sixteen matches played, he recorded only seven victories. Forced to make multiple infiltrations in recent years, Benoît Paire hangs on but his morale is affected. In two Instagram stories, he admitted he was going through a complicated period, but there was no question of putting away the rackets for the moment.
The terrible confession
“My goal is to be able to play again without pain… for the moment I still have back pain so I’m taking my time to find the solution”he writes, cited by
TennisNews. “If my body leaves me alone then I want to replay once all the tournaments that I enjoyed playing throughout my career. I must admit that I’m not in an incredible mood… It’s not easy to wake up with pain and not find the solution to make it better… So not the happiest in my life but I try to smile and better things will come, I’m sure”adds Paire.
Last July, the 36-year-old tennis player had already admitted to great physical weariness. “No more tournaments as long as I have pain. No resumption date, it will depend on my body, but nothing for a while. I have had twelve infiltrations in a year and a half and I feel that if I force it, it will really break. So, I will come back if I feel capable of stringing together points, matches and tournaments”he then wrote, without giving a real date of resumption.
