In Mayenne, this is not a new road sign, but the last angry outburst from a boss. In front of this busy crossroads at the exit of Laval, raised on a wooden frame, the sign installed on the site of the future head office of this temporary work group denounces political leaders who could force it to abandon the site and even to relocate. A message that is causing debate among these Laval residents.

It might also be a bit of blackmail, right? I think it’s a bit like that. Create jobs, allow people to find work, it’s a shame not to do it“, asks a jogger passing in front of the construction site. A second passerby says he understands that “given the current political context, we may be a little reluctant to invest“.”These big companies, they generate millions of profits or others, I think that they are also able to participate in the nation’s effort“, estimates a final resident interviewed.

The boss of Actual Group did not stop at this panel. On social networks, he denounces in particular the budget currently being examined, accusing a tax system which discourages initiative and investment as well as a confiscatory inheritance tax. The one who is also vice-president of MEDEF intends to influence parliamentary debates. “Today, what we are lacking, obviously, is visibility on what is going to happen. There is a form of fog with lots of threats to employment, to business, to development, to innovation. This is why I wanted to suspend while waiting to see more clearly“, indicates Samuel Tual, president and director of “Actual group”.

His pressure reached the ears of parliamentarians. Agreeing with the observation, Modem deputy Erwan Balanant questions the method: “Business leaders only tell me one thing. They tell me: come to an agreement, find us a budget that allows us to move forward, that allows us to have visibility. Afterwards, does it block construction sites as such? I don’t believe“.

The company employs 4,500 employees in 600 agencies. Its new head office, a few hundred meters from the current site, would represent an investment of 20 million euros.
