The general secretary of the CGT Sophie Binet was indicted after comparing big bosses threatening to outsource to “rats” Who “leave the ship”she reveals Tuesday December 2 on France Inter. At the end of January, she reacted to the comments of the boss of the LVMH group, Bernard Arnault, who considered that the government’s proposed surcharge “was pushing for relocation”estimating that “his words reflect the behavior of the big bosses today who are sinking the country”Who “don’t care about France anymore (…). I want to say: the rats are leaving the ship.”

The Ethic employers’ movement, chaired by Sophie de Menthon, had filed a complaint against her for “public insults”judging that Sophie Binet had brought an attack on business leaders “negative value judgment which necessarily taints their honor and reputation”.

“I discovered that I was being indicted following these comments. I was extremely shocked because by saying that, I was only doing my job as a trade unionist, namely denouncing relocations and denouncing inequalities in the distribution of wealth and the fact that billionaires always pay less taxes and no longer feel responsible for employment in France, the general interest and participation in the well-being of the country”reacts Sophie Binet.
