On November 8, Judicaël Cancoriet (29 years old) scored (in the first half) one of La Rochelle’s two tries against Toulon on the pitch at the Mayol stadium. The Maritimes and their third line lost (39-14) during this late match of the 3rd day of Top 14 (Editor’s note: The meeting, initially scheduled for September 21, was postponed due to the storm which hit the region that evening). Despite the defeat, the try scored by Cancoriet had perhaps given ideas to the former Clermont player.
Next season, the French international (5 caps) will indeed regularly set foot on the Mayol field, but in the colors of… RCT. At the end of his contract at Stade Rochelais, the native of Sarcelles, in the Paris region, will leave Charentes Maritimes and Jaune et Noir in the off-season, which he joined in 2023 after nine years spent in Auvergne in the ASM jersey, to head to Var and join this Toulon team against whom he had a very complicated evening last month.

The team we learn this Tuesday that the player crowned champion of France with Clermont in 2017, two years before finding himself in the final again at the Stade de France but losing there with the Jaunards this time (against Toulouse), has reached an agreement with the leaders of the RCT, where he will therefore continue his career.
Our colleagues also understand that Cancoriet was not open to an extension in La Rochelle. However, due to not seeing anything coming while his possible new contract seemed to be under study for several weeks, the person concerned would have preferred to keep his back and discuss with Toulon, to whom he therefore ended up giving his agreement.
Currently injured, the 29-year-old third row has only made five appearances (four starts and this test against his future club) since the start of the season.
