In the North, the town hall of Tri-Saint-Léger has set up a check for 100 euros to improve purchasing power. Each household receives the sum which goes for one half to buy from local merchants, and for the other half give the opportunity to pay your energy bills.
In the tri-Saint-Léger mining basin in the North, 6,000 inhabitants live. For the past three years, they have benefited from a check for 50 euros to shop. Help from the town hall delights the beneficiaries. In a commune butcher’s shop, the comings and goings are linked. Thanks to this check, traders attract more and more customers: “It made us known more. We doubled the customers last year ”explains the Cindy Domisse traffic jam.
Over 50 businesses are concerned. In addition to food spending, residents can have fun by going to the hairdresser, for example.
In addition to the purchase check, the inhabitants have an additional 50 euros to pay their energy bills. For the town hall, it is a large budget: 250,000 euros. However, for the mayor of the city, it is essential.
