In its Monday edition, Midi Olympique teaches us the extension of the contract of three important players in the Top 14: Nicolas Depoortère, Stuart Hogg and Romain Briatte.
If the Top 14 made a release on the ground for two weeks due to the end of the 6 nations tournament, the clubs continued working behind the scenes, and three notably obtained the extension of the contract of one of their major players. This is what reveals Olympic Midi in its edition on Monday.
Bordeaux-Bègles, the second in the championship, saw its international center Nicolas Depoortère signing a new lease until 2028.
Born in Gironde and trained at the club, the 22 -year -old was under contract until 2026, but decided to extend for two additional seasons. Like Matthieu Jalibert or Yoram Moefana, also under contract until 2028, the player with the two selections in the French team (during the 2024 tournament) is registered with his lifelong club. The native of Pessac has already played 55 games in the UBB jersey, and marked 18 tries during his career (16 games and 6 trials this season).
Hogg remains faithful to MHR
On the side of Montpellier, 8th in the Top 14, it is Stuart Hogg who will continue the adventure. The 32 -year -old Scottish rear or Scottish opener arrived last summer when he had initially retired, agreed with the Hérault club to extend until 2027. He played 13 games with the MHR this season and scored 83 points. A sacred good news for the Mohed Altrad club, who will see Anthony Bouthier go at the end of the season to return to Vannes.
Finally, the Stade Français, current 11th in the ranking and far from being saved, obtained the extension of Romain Briatte until 2028. The third line of 32 years arrived in 2021 in the capital and could well end its career there. The player who has a selection with the XV of France (last summer in Argentina) was courted by Toulon, his training club Clermont, and his former Club of Agen, but the Stade Français has made a big financial effort to keep it. In this very complicated season for pink soldiers, Briatte played 16 games, including 13 as a holder.
