As the 2026 season approaches, it is clear that Tadej Pogacar has a big dream of victory. One race is particularly close to his heart…
We are starting to know him, Tadej Pogacar. For 2026, the Slovenian plans to continue the momentum of previous seasons, first chasing the classics before focusing on stage races.
Four times winner of the Tour de France, the world champion has the opportunity to equal legends Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Indurain by winning a fifth Grande Boucle. But to hear him say it, Pogacar would almost prefer to add Milan-San Remo and Paris-Roubaix to his list of achievements.
The Slovenian made a very notable first appearance on the cobbles of Hell of the North last spring, finishing second behind Mathieu van der Poel. This December, he offered himself a new recognition session with his friend Tim Wellens.
Pogacar dreams of Roubaix
“We’ve already done some testing, and it’s been extremely informative: tires, bikes, we’ve tested all kinds of things. We learned a lot, and it was essential”confided the versatile Belgian.
“Tadej still wants to win many races, but Paris-Roubaix is among his biggest wishes, confirmed Wellens, totally ready to ride for his leader. When Tadej is racing, it’s different. It is easier to ride in his service than to aim for your own result, and I am happy to sacrifice myself for him in the Tour of Flanders and at Paris-Roubaix. »
