After five years, Romain Grosjean has put his hands back on an F1 car and says he is ready to consider a return.
For one day, Romain Grosjean rediscovered the sensations of driving a Formula 1 car. On September 26, he got behind the wheel of a Haas for tire tests, thus going back five years and reviving the memory of his terrible accident.
On November 29, 2020, during the Bahrain GP, Grosjean was the victim of a spectacular off-track exit on the first lap, his car hit a rail and caught fire. The Frenchman escaped in 28 seconds, suffering from burns on his hands, and had to abandon the last Grand Prix of the season, ending his F1 career in these striking images.
“If a great opportunity presents itself”
Now a consultant for Canal+, Grosjean has never really left the paddocks and recently expressed his desire to return to the world of F1. “I think one of the highlights of the year was my return to Haas in a Formula 1 car”he first declared to beIN Sports.
Asked about a possible return, he added: “I would say you should never say never in life. I don’t know if I’ll ever come back to F1… But if a great opportunity presents itself in a team, with an interesting role, it’s something I would love a lot.”. The stables are therefore notified.
