This Sunday morning, Austrian Marco Schwarz set the best time in the first round of the Alta Badia giant slalom in Italy.

This Sunday morning, on the Gran Risa, the Austrian, who started with bib number 1, set the best time in the first round of the giant slalom at Alta Badia in Italy, counting for the men’s Alpine Skiing World Cup. The skier beat the American River Radamus (+0 »64) and his compatriot Stefan Brennsteiner (+0 »67). On the other hand, the Swiss Marco Odermatt, leader of the World Cup, of that of the specialty and quadruple title holder on this same track, was further behind, to the extent that he only has the eleventh best time (+1 “51).
Some French people showed up. Two of them even made it into the top 10 of this first round. They are Léo Anguenot, second last year in this race on the same track, and Thibaut Favrot, ninth (+1”40) and tenth (+1”50) respectively.
A great performance from Parand
Starting with bib number 53, Loevan Parand had a superb race, which allowed him to finish in fourteenth place in this first round (+1”64). For others, however, it was more complicated. Like Alban Elezi Cannaferina and Alexis Pinturault, respectively 25th (+2”32), despite a huge mistake, and 26th (+2”40).
No miracle, however, for Guerlain Favre. Starting with bib number 54, the Frenchman, 35th, will not see the second round. Just like Flavio Vitale, who started with bib number 28, and Diego Orecchioni, 44th and 45th respectively. The second round will take place this Sunday, early in the afternoon, from 1:30 p.m.
