Deprived of a podium at the start of the week, Eric Perrot finished the Annecy-Le Grand Bornand stage with a second place on the mass start, won by the Italian Tommaso Giacomel.
There were far too many podiums for the French this week at Grand-Bornand for Eric Perrot not to invite himself to the party. Eighth in the sprint with a shooting error, the Frenchman finished at the foot of the box in the pursuit with a 19/20, trapped in the sprint by his friend Emilien Jacquelin.
This Sunday, Eric Perrot was rewarded for his efforts with a second place in the mass start, at the end of a race in which he had little to reproach himself for. Despite his 20/20 shooting, he came across someone stronger than him.
Parrot beaten by Giacomel
For once, it was not the amazing Johan-Olav Botn, who lowered his staggering average behind the rifle with a “small” 18/20 (to finish 5th). It was Tommaso Giacomel, Perrot’s “generational” rival, who won the day.
Despite a shooting error, the Italian took the lead in the race by flying away on the penultimate lap, leaving Perrot without reaction. The Frenchman did not tremble on the last pass against the targets to secure a good second place, and sign his third podium of the season.
