Busy roads. For the Christmas holidays, Bison Futé anticipates disrupted traffic at the national level on Wednesday December 24, according to a press release from the Ministry of Transport released on Monday. Christmas Eve is classified orange in the direction of departures at the national level. In Ile-de-France and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, still in the direction of departures, the day is classified red by the forecaster.

The traffic level is expected to be very high from early Wednesday morning until early evening, reports the Bison Futé newsletter. “Traffic levels could be particularly high towards the Normandy coast (A13), the Atlantic coast (A10, A11), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (A7, Eastern Lyon bypass, A42, A43) and on the routes serving the Mediterranean arc (A8, A9)”he explains.

Traffic will be particularly dense in Île-de-France “from mid-morning”. “The combination of the numerous trips linked to the final preparations for Christmas Eve, commuting and journeys to the places of the festivities, could make traffic very intense throughout Île-de-France until the early evening”adds Bison Futé.
