Author of interesting debuts in the NBA since his draft in 2023 (in 7th place), Bilal Coulibaly is currently having a frustrating start to the 2025-26 season. Indeed, the Frenchman has not been spared from injuries recently, having only played 13 matches with the Washington Wizards so far. However, the main person concerned is not worried that much.
“The reasons for my injuries? I don’t know anything about it. I do everything to be physically ready, I spend a lot of time in the gym. I prepare as necessary. I just think it’s bad luck. And I can’t fight that. Nor dwell on it. I have other things to work on”explained in particular the full-back or winger who passed through Boulogne-Levallois at the same time as Victor Wembanyama.
Bilal Coulibaly does not fear competition
“Above all, I have the impression that I haven’t really started my season yet, that I haven’t found my rhythm. (…) And the competition? It doesn’t scare me. It’s been around since I was little. In basketball, there will always be guys who want to take your place. You have to know how to fight to stay on top and that’s what I do”Coulibaly subsequently confided, during an interview with L’Équipe.
“I don’t want to make excuses and use my injuries to justify being less good. I want to be better with or without injuries, the Washington Wizards player also explained. (…) Here, I am told that I don’t have to worry, that I have shown a lot of good things and that people are counting on me. And I still have two thirds of the season to play! » Especially since his franchise (currently 15th and last in the Eastern Conference) really needs him to smile again.
