The damage is still being felt, by the public group but also by its users. Since Monday December 22, La Poste has been the victim of a cyberattack. Access to bank accounts and tracking of packages is disrupted, a few days before Christmas. On Tuesday, the group’s management indicated that certain online services were working again, “but the situation remains unstable” and package tracking remains unavailable.

Management says the teams are working hard to repair everything. Except that a few days before Christmas, the task is not easy because parcel deliveries are also affected by delays. In front of one of the largest post offices in Lyon, customers are a little worried.

The latter ask many questions at the counters on Tuesday morning, everyone asks where their packages are. Camille takes out her phone. He cannot access the website. “I go to my order, I have the package tracking and the number I gave at the Post Office counter. The site is unavailable. It’s a little frustrating, plus it’s a large group so I hope they put the resources behind it to get this resolved fairly quickly”hopes Camille.

For shipments too, the problem remains similar. Philippe has just sold a fake weapon on a platform for individuals, he has just brought the package. “I just sold it. I think the buyer wants a Christmas present for him. So this will be his present, but people told me there would be a delay apparently due to the cyber attack. It was supposed to last two days but the person told me at least four days”, says the customer.

Sometimes frustration is harder to deal with. Louis has just brought many packages, he works in a clothing store next door. And since Monday, it’s been chaos for some. “We go through Colissimo which is in crisis, which has put us in a bit of a bind. Unfortunately, it’s not their fault, it happens. I have people on the phone who are not very happy because they won’t have their package for Christmas”deplores the seller who only hopes that his shipments will not arrive under the trees too late.

An investigation was opened on Tuesday for acts of obstruction of the operation of an automated data processing system, the Paris prosecutor’s office told franceinfo, which specified that the investigation was led by the cybercrime section of the Paris prosecutor’s office and was entrusted to the brigade to combat cybercrime.
