Left injured during Castres Olympique’s last match against Montpellier, three-quarter center Adrea Cocagi will be away from the field for three months. The club also gave news of its other players present in the infirmary.
The Castres Olympique infirmary is always full and has a new member in its ranks since the narrow defeat of the Tarn club on the Montpellier pitch (33-31) last weekend. Indeed, in the very last moments of this meeting, the Fijian three-quarter center Adrea Cocagi fractured his forearm, forcing him to give way to Ramotabua.
It was on its official website that Castres Olympique communicated this Tuesday about its 31-year-old player, therefore confirming the broken forearm, and specifying in passing that the player “was operated on Monday” and that he should be away from the pitches of the Top 14 for a period of “three months”, for a possible return which could take place in the spring.
Colonna and Tukino in recovery
As the 17th day of Top 14 approaches this weekend, where Castres Olympique, ninth in the standings, will host Lyon (12th) on Saturday in an important meeting for which coach Xavier Sadourny will have to deal with a reduced squad. The “CO” also took advantage of its publication on its site to provide news of its other wounded in the infirmary.
And, some absences should be longer than others. Scrum-half Santiago Arata is still recovering from his concussion, while third-row Abraham Papali’i is suffering from a calf muscle injury. The CO specifies that the 32-year-old player will begin his rehabilitation process next week. For his part, captain Mathieu Babillot is treating his ankle, while fly-half Louis Le Brun continues his convalescence following his rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee at the start of the season.
Finally, CO supporters can still be satisfied, since the club has announced that hooker Pierre Colonna, as well as third-row Feibyan Tukino will gradually resume training during this week, with the hope of a return to the field quickly for both men.
