MP Abdelkader Benzineb calls for an investigation after tribute to journalist Malek Ben Hamouda

MP Abdelkader Benzineb published a post on Facebook on Thursday, December 25, 2025, calling for the opening of an investigation after the tribute paid to sports journalist Malek Ben Hamouda. Noting that this tribute raised several questions and doubts in the region around the authenticity of the TV presenter’s academic distinction, the elected official wrote: “ (…) in my capacity as a people’s deputy, we ask the public prosecutor to open an investigation into this matter. »

This position comes as an official ceremony was held, on the morning of Wednesday, December 24, at the headquarters of the governorate of Nabeul, in honor of Malek Ben Hamouda, for having obtained an international diploma in information sciences and journalism, as well as for his contribution to the development of sporting activity in the region.

According to the press release from the governorate of Nabeul, the ceremony took place under the supervision of the governor of Nabeul, Hana Chouchani, in the presence of the First Delegate, Mourad Haj Omar, the Regional Commissioner for Youth and Sports, as well as the head of the sports development service. The speakers unanimously highlighted the professional qualities of the journalist, praising his sense of creativity, his communication skills and his contribution to the sports media landscape, both on radio and television.

However, the official initiative has, according to Abdelkader Benzineb, provoked contrasting reactions, fueled by questions about the nature and recognition of the diploma mentioned. Hence his request to remove all ambiguity and establish possible responsibilities, for the sake of transparency and respect for institutions.

Malek Ben Hamouda, for his part, published on December 12, 2025, on his Facebook page a copy of the certificate he obtained. The document distributed reports the obtaining of a “ Professional Master Certificate », issued by The American Board for Innovative Training and Leadership Developmentan international organization specializing in professional training and leadership development.

According to the information communicated by this institution on its website, this type of certification is awarded at the end of a specialized training course exceeding 80 hours, or on the basis of the submission of a portfolio of advanced professional experiences, accompanied by a practical project or an institutional development report.
