As New Year’s Eve approaches, Airbnb is tracking reservations from people wanting to party.

Airbnb has invested in a very sophisticated data analysis system which allows it to assess, from the moment of booking, the risks of rental for the sole purpose of organizing a party and therefore to track down those who would seek to rent a property without revealing their intentions, because it is prohibited to reserve an Airbnb for a festive event, even in small groups.

Implemented four years ago, its anti-party system works well, estimates the American giant, since it has allowed it to block more than 11,600 reservations in France in 2025 and more than 20,000 in the United States.

Thanks to artificial intelligence, the platform cross-references hundreds of data such as history, length of stay, the shorter it is, the more suspicious it is, the time of the request, the last minutes are considered risky, if it is a reservation on the weekend, the distance from home and if there are a lot of parking spaces.

Airbnb will then doubt the sincerity of your request if you check a lot of these boxes, and therefore, you have a significant risk of being blocked by the platform or of being directed towards other modes of accommodation, such as rooms in a private home or a hotel, just to kindly turn you away!
