“None” condition will not allow the Rebels to vote on the budget, says Friday December 26 on France Inter le LFI deputy Éric Coquerel. “If you vote for the budget, you are no longer in the opposition, you are in the majority. That would mean that to vote for it, this budget would have to be completely transformed”he explains.

For the deputy for Seine-Saint-Denis, president of the Finance Committee of the National Assembly, it is essential to“stop putting the cost of the deficit on all French people” and you have to go “look for the money where it is, that is to say towards the ultra-rich”. Or, “this is not what is going to be done, we must not be naive”, he said, “the government is trying to find a compromise by slightly tweaking its budget and therefore it is a compromise which will be impossible”.

If Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu uses article 49.3 to pass this budget without a vote, “we will censor it immediately” the government, adds Éric Coquerel, “because that would obviously be a way to pass a budget in the most scandalous way possible.”

Discussions on the finance bill for 2026 will resume in January, on the basis of the text revised by the Senate, first in the Finance Committee of the Assembly on January 8 and 9, specifies Éric Coquerel.
