Yabusele, the shattering declaration

Author of a successful return last year to the NBA with the Philadelphia Sixers, Guerschon Yabusele undoubtedly hoped to experience a new, slightly calmer chapter in his career. Unfortunately for him, his debut with the New York Knicks did not go as planned. Little used by Mike Brown (less than ten minutes since the start of the season), the Frenchman has not played in the last three games for his franchise.

While the Knicks are reportedly considering parting ways with him, the “Dancing Bear” has not said his last word and still hopes to prove that he has his place among the recent winners of the NBA Cup. “It’s honestly the first time I’ve found myself in this situation. I don’t really know what to think about it, to be honest. Above all, I try to stay positive,” initially admitted the main person concerned, in comments collected by L’Équipe.

Yabusele: “Today I don’t see myself anywhere else”

“If the rest of my career is to be spent in New York – and I hope so! -, I would be happy. If it has to be somewhere else, it will be. Today I don’t see myself anywhere else. I will continue to work so that my name is called on the field. (…) It’s difficult. I say it without taboo. It’s very difficult to live with, in the head. I am a competitor, I like to make mistakes, to progress, to learn,” Yabusele later explained.

“Besides, it’s not necessarily at the start of my seasons that I’m the best, but with time and my ability to adapt. In New York too I needed to adapt and see how everyone plays. If the coach thinks that I should not play, for reasons that belong to him, I have to accept it unfortunately. And stay positive for the good of the team. Things will move when they have to move,” the French interior also said.
