“The mobilization will resume at the beginning of January”, assures the Rural Coordination, after having decided to lift the blockages on the A63 and the A64

While the blockage of the A63 near Cestas has been lifted, that of the A64 near Carbonne, south of Toulouse, is still in progress.

“Mobilization will resume at the beginning of January in a certain number of departments”declared François Walraet, secretary general of Rural Coordination, guest of franceinfo on Friday December 26, while the union indicated a little earlier in the day that it was announcing the end of the blockages on the A63 in Cestas (Gironde) and on the A64 between Pau and Urt (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).

“Farmers also need a break, the animals are calving, it requires a lot of work”explains François Walraet.

Rural Coordination nevertheless insists on the urgency of resuming mobilization after this short respite: “The concern is extremely great, agriculture is in a bad phase, there are structural reforms to be implemented and for them to start, a balance of power must be initiated”continues François Walraet, who points in particular “the DNC (contagious lumpy dermatosis), Mercosur, the next CAP (common agricultural policy) and taxes on fertilizers”.

The blockage of the A63 at Cestas (Gironde) lasted 12 days and that on the A64 between Pau and Urt, two weeks, specifies HERE Béarn Bigorre. On the other hand, at the other end of the A64, the lifting of the Carbonne dam (Haute-Garonne), south of Toulouse, is not on the agenda for the moment.
