RC Toulon announced this Saturday the absences for several months of Swan Rebbadj, Joé Quere Karaba and Patrick Tuifua. All three players are injured in one knee and will be out between five and nine months.
This is what we call a real tile. While RC Toulon prepares to host Perpignan this Sunday at 6 p.m. as part of the 13th day of the Top 14, the Var club took stock of the players present in the infirmary. The least we can say is that the news is not encouraging, particularly for three forwards in the Toulon squad, namely Swan Rebbadj, Joé Quere Karaba and Patrick Tuifua. Affected in the knee in recent weeks, the three players now know the duration of their unavailability.
In a press release published this Saturday, the RCT announces an absence of “5 to 6 months” for Joé Quere Karaba who
“going to have surgery on the external ligament”. For his part, Swan Rebbadj, who started in the RCT’s defeat on the Bordeaux pitch (46-7) last Sunday, will have surgery for a ruptured cruciate ligament and is expected to miss the next nine months of competition.
Good news, despite everything
Absent from the field during Toulon’s defeat at Clermont in mid-October, Patrick Tuifua is expected to be absent for eight months due to a knee problem. An offseason recruit from Toulon, the winger has only played two matches since his arrival in Var. Furthermore, still injured, Jean-Baptiste Gros
“will be absent from the field for another 15 days”announced the club from the south of France.
Note that there is not only bad news from Toulon. Indeed, the RCT, 4th in the Top 14 before this 13th day, records the returns of second row David Ribbans, pillar Dany Priso, full-back Marius Domon and winger Gabin Villière. Arrived in Toulon a few days ago, Tomas Albornoz is already in the Toulon group. The Argentine fly-half could make his debut with the RCT this weekend against USAP.
