The presence of Kylian Mbappé in the stands did not escape Achraf Hakimi. Before Morocco-Zambia at CAN 2025, the Parisian enjoyed this friendly reunion, between complicity and… transfer window rumors.
On the eve of Morocco’s second match at CAN 2025, Monday against Zambia, Achraf Hakimi appeared relaxed and smiling at a press conference. The Atlas Lions side was especially questioned about a very particular spectator seen in the stands during the victory against Mali: Kylian Mbappé. The captain of the French team, on vacation in Morocco, did not fail to come and support his former teammate and friend from Paris Saint-Germain.
With his usual good humor, Hakimi did not hide his pleasure. “It’s a pleasure to see my friend Kylian Mbappé in Morocco, he really likes the country”confided the player, visibly touched by this visit. “ He enjoys the country, Moroccan food. I’m so happy he came to the match.”he added, confirming the intact proximity between the two stars.
But Mbappé was not content with the role of a simple tourist. According to Hakimi, the Blues striker was impressed by the Moroccan performance. “He liked our team, he said that we had the qualities to win the CAN, and that we still have room for improvement”reported the defender, enough to reinforce optimism around Morocco’s ambitions in the competition.
A return to Real to play again with Mbappé?
These reunions obviously did not fail to revive speculation about the future of Achraf Hakimi. Trained at Real Madrid, passed through Dortmund before winning in Paris, the Moroccan international remains regularly associated with the Merengue club. Last November, his agent recalled that, despite a contract running until 2029 at PSG, “in football, nothing is impossible” and that “Real Madrid is his home”.
In the meantime, Achraf Hakimi seems fully focused on the CAN and on the meeting against Zambia, with, in the background, the friendly support of a certain Kylian Mbappé. He will make his debut in the competition after being preserved during the first match against Mali (1-1).
