The Committee to Support the Political Prisoner, Ahmed Néjib Chebbi, called, Friday December 26, 2025, for a solidarity rally in front of the Court of Appeal at Bab Bnet in Tunis, on Monday December 29 from 9 a.m.
This mobilization – to which all activists committed to freedom, dignity, democracy and justice are invited – is organized on the occasion of the hearing devoted to the examination of the appeal filed by the defense of Ahmed Néjib Chebbi against the judgment rendered against him condemning him to a sentence of twelve years of imprisonment.
According to my support committee, this gathering aims to reaffirm attachment to the principles of the rule of law and to denounce what it considers to be an attack on fundamental freedoms and the guarantees of a fair trial.
Ahmed Néjib Chebbi was arrested on December 4 after the announcement of the verdict in the so-called “plot against state security” case. This file, opened in 2023, targets several opposition figures and is based on anonymous testimonies. Ahmed Néjib Chebbi had, on numerous occasions, denounced a “totally fabricated” affair used to silence his detractors.
