The criminal chamber specializing in examining terrorism cases has decided to postpone the hearing relating to the recruitment networks case until January 29, 2026.
According to a source cited by Tap, the court also rejected all of the requests for release presented by the defendants, and to postpone the examination of other procedural requests until a decision on the merits of the case has been rendered.
The sentences handed down against the accused fluctuated, at first instance, between 18 and 36 years of imprisonment, accompanied by additional measures.
Among the defendants convicted in this case relating to networks facilitating departures to areas of tension and armed conflict for jihad, are the former Minister of the Interior Ali Larayedh (34 years in prison), as well as former security executives, notably Abdelkrim Abidi and Fathi Beldi, each having received 26 years in prison.
The investigation into this affair involves, it should be remembered, more than 800 people, including the former President of the Republic, Moncef Marzouki.
