A 100% Scandinavian team on the Tour de France

The UNO-X Mobility team for the Tour de France has been unveiled, and it will be made up of seven Norwegian runners and a Danish runner. But not Alexander Kristoff.

The Tour de France will start in a little more than three weeks, and the composition of the 23 teams will be revealed gradually by the big departure of Lille. Invited by the organizers, the Norwegian team UNO-X-Mobility will be present for the third year in a row, and it will be made up only of Scandinavian runners: seven Norwegians and a Danish.
Jonas Abrahamsen, Magnus Cort, Stian Edvardsen Fredheim, Markus Hoelgaard, Tobias Halland Johannesen, Anders Halland Johannesen, Andreas Leknesnd and Søren Wærenkjold
will represent the red and yellow colors on the big loop, with a main objective: to win a stage, which the UNO-X Mobility team did not succeed in its first two participations.

“It was the most difficult selection we have ever made,” said former runner Thor Hushovd, managing director of UNO-X Mobility Cycling As. Some very strong runners have been eliminated, which speaks volumes on the path traveled as a team. Each year, we place the bar above. We always aim for the Grand Prix: a stage victory on the Tour. The 2025 course rewards courageous races, and this team is made for that. »»

Kristoff absent, J.Abrahamsen uncertain

Alexander Kristoff, the man with 99 professional victories, including four on the Tour de France, is in particular among the runners who have been failed. “He absolutely deserved a last participation in the Tour, and I am convinced that he would have been up to par, as always. But this year, we chose Søren Wærennskjold as the main sprinter. He demonstrated that he could win sprints in the face of the best. With Stian Edvardsen Fredheim, he formed a promising duo. This is a decision that reflects the future of our team, ”argues Hushovd. Note, however, that Jonas Abrahamsen, who had wore the polka dot jersey last year, broke the collarbone on Wednesday on the Tour of Belgium and is not sure to be able to start in Lille.
