A 2026 season that will not lack spice

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) unveiled this Tuesday the calendar of the 2026 season, with 24 dates on the program, as in the past two years. The Australian Grand Prix will open the ball in early March, while the GPs of Miami and Canada will follow one another in May, which will move the Monaco GP in June. New meeting, Madrid, scheduled for mid-September, replaces the GP of Emilie-Romagne, which disappears again.

While exercise 2025, dominated for the moment by McLaren, is in full swing, the calendar of the next season is known. And this 2026 season will not be a shortage of spice, just like this agenda, unveiled this Tuesday, turns out to be rich in lessons. Not because of the number of dates on the menu, since the schedule will once again offer twenty-four dates, as was already the case in 2024 and as is again the case this year. On the other hand, for the rest, the changes are considerable. With in particular the disappearance of the Grand Prix of Emilie-Romagne, disputed in Imola, while the meeting had made a comeback on the calendar in 2020. The arrival of the Madrid GP (GP of Spain), scheduled for mid-September, is the cause.

However, if Spain will have two Grands Prix in 2026, this should no longer be the case in 2027, since the Barcelona contract (GP from Catalonia) will eventually arrive next May. Madrid, which will be disputed just before Azerbaijan and this famous circuit in the town of Baku, will close the ban of nine-sleeves in Europe, with Monaco to launch the series in the Old Continent (which will last from June to mid-September and will be marked in particular by the farewells of the GP of the Netherlands) on the first weekend of June. So later than usual.

An end of the season identical to this year

The fault of the GPs of Miami and Canada (which will rub the competition of the 500 miles of Indianapolis) which will now take place following, in May (with two weekends without race between the two dates). In addition, due to Ramadan (February 17 to March 19 a priori), the start of the season will be given in Australia, in early March, while China, Japan, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will take over.

Regarding the end of the season, it will be the same as in 2025. After Bakou, the pilots will thus head on Singapore then the American continent (Austin, Mexico, Brazil and Las Vegas). The outcome of the season will have again for the Théâtre Le Qatar then Abu Dhabi, on December 6.
