The president of the Tunis Regional Bar Association, Laâroussi Zguir, returned, Friday, November 14, 2025, to the tragic circumstances of the death of lawyer Karim Kraznadji, an event which deeply shook the Tunisian judiciary.
The tragedy occurred on the morning of Thursday, November 13, at 11:35 a.m., in the very heart of the Tunis courthouse. Mr. Kraznadji was in the hall of the court, a place he frequented daily and where he carried out his mission with constancy and dignity.
It was there, in this symbolic space of the defense of rights, that he suddenly collapsed, struck down by a sudden cardiac arrest, according to the details provided by Me Zguir in his intervention on Jihene Miled’s Sbeh Ennes show on Mosaïque FM.
He added that the Tunisian legal community was in shock noting that the deceased was an affable man, always ready to help, always measured.
He also wanted to salute the gesture of the magistrates who, as soon as the tragedy was announced, suspended all the hearings as a sign of respect and contemplation. A decision which testifies to the esteem enjoyed by the deceased and the feeling of loss shared beyond professional divisions.
But behind the emotion, Me Zguir highlighted a worrying reality: the trying conditions in which lawyers and judges work.
He spoke of the daily tension, the permanent stress, and the structural difficulties which, according to him, weigh heavily on the physical and mental health of those who uphold justice.
