Abdelmadjid Tebboune receives Mohamed Ali Nafti: Tunisian-Algerian coordination around the Libyan issue


Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received, Wednesday November 5, 2025, at the El Mouradia Palace, the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, visiting Algiers to participate in the tripartite consultative meeting on Libya, scheduled for November 6, with the participation of Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt.

During this meeting, Mohamed Ali Nafti conveyed to President Tebboune the greetings of the Tunisian Head of State, Kaïs Saïed, while emphasizing Tunisia’s deep pride in fraternal relations and exemplary cooperation between the two countries. He also reaffirmed the desire of the Tunisian leadership to continue ongoing coordination and consultation with Algiers, in the common interest of the two peoples and for the strengthening of regional security and stability.

Discussions focused on the need for an exclusively Libyan-Libyan approach to achieve a lasting political solution in Libya, guaranteeing the unity and stability of the country. Both parties welcomed the tripartite consultation mechanism between neighboring countries, which allows for better coordination and an effective contribution to the political settlement under the aegis of the United Nations.

The Tunisian minister also informed President Tebboune of the preparations for the 23rd session of the Tunisian-Algerian Joint Commission, scheduled for Tunis from December 9 to 12, 2025. This session should mark a new stage in the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Tunisia and Algeria, through the consolidation of bilateral cooperation in various areas.
