This Sunday, the French Tennis Federation (FFT) announced that it had named her captain of the French Billie Jean King Cup team, but also manager of the French women’s teams. In its press release, the FFT indicates that it was convinced by “Alizé Cornet’s career as a former player, her investment in French tennis, her profile, her motivation and her availability”, before also indicating that “her experience at the highest level will be decisive in helping the Billie Jean King Cup French team return to the world elite (…)”. With her new functions, “Alizé Cornet will be placed under the responsibility of Ivan Ljubicic, director of High Level of the French Tennis Federation”.
In this same press release, Alizé Cornet shared her joy at the idea of starting this new adventure: “It is a huge honor to take responsibility for the French women’s teams. I appreciate the confidence the Federation has in me and I am determined to do everything possible to help our players express their best level. I am committed to building a strong team spirit, based on high standards, solidarity and passion for the blue jersey. »
