On the morning of Monday, December 22, 2025, a solidarity sit-in was organized in front of the court on the occasion of the appearance of Saadia Mosbah, president of the Mnamty association, before the courts. This mobilization brought together members of her family, activists, civil society activists as well as many citizens, all eager to show their support and defend the values that Ms. Mosbah represents.

Participants chanted strong and evocative slogans such as: “Solidarity is not a crime”, “Release Saadia”, “Freedom for the oppressed”, “Justice for Saadia”, or even “Justice and freedom for the symbols of humanity”. These words reflect not only a desire to support Ms. Mosbah, but also a protest against what they perceive as an attack on the fundamental principles of justice and freedom in Tunisia.

Saadia Mosbah is an emblematic figure in the fight against racism and for human rights in the country. She has been detained since May 5, 2024 and is currently facing money laundering charges. On the day of her arrest, the police went to her home, arrested her and carried out a search authorized by the courts. At the same time, the premises of the Mnamty association, which she chaired, were searched as part of the investigation opened against her.

This affair has aroused strong emotion within Tunisian civil society and beyond, bringing together those who consider Ms. Mosbah as a symbol of resistance against injustice and discrimination. This Monday’s sit-in thus illustrates the commitment of a united community, determined to defend human rights and to remind people that the fight for justice and equality cannot be criminalized.
